Curtain Talk.
I am subscribed to several home and design blogs. I enjoy browsing through the different house designs and sometimes I get inspired to create a similar project for our house. Right now I am looking into window treatments. Would you believe we only have one set of curtains for the house? Yes, the curtains go right back to the windows after washing. So I think it’s about time that I get a new set of window treatments. Blinds are nice but I do prefer curtains. Since I want natural light, I have a preference for simple, light-colored and sheer curtains like the ones below.
I got those from Smith+Noble. I also saw some printed curtains and I think I like them, as well. I actually think they are better than the plain ones. Maybe I should get some printed curtains then mix them with sheer curtains like these. I can still have the natural light with the sheer curtains and at the same time be able to cheer up the house with the prints.
I am really getting excited just by looking at these. I’m sure a new set of curtains will liven up the house, the living room especially. I can’t wait to get my new curtains.
My Tiny Work Area.

This is what I see during my PC time. From left, my hard disk on a case {Because a case is so much cheaper than an external HD.}, my lovely pink laptop with its matching mouse and the little boy’s plastic coin bank. My PC time is usually at night when the little boy is asleep. Sometimes though, I get to sneak in a few minutes during the day.
My table is just an ordinary computer table I bought when I was still single. My table is quite old. We just glued some printed paper we got from Ace Hardware. The table has wheels so I can drag it anywhere in the house. But I usually stay in the small room beside our bedroom.

What’s on top?

The W@W calendar. My small planner where I scribble impt info, a small notebook where I jot down the little boy’s milestones and a little book on babies. Scratch papers. The notepad from Benz and the Starbucks planner which I rarely use.
What’s down there?

Besides the cluster of cable, which I hate very much, I have CD case containing backup of my pics, D80 manual, my fave mag ~ Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion and the little boy’s baby book.
Declutter.
I was reading the latest post on Zen Habits {This is a nice read, btw.} about the tips and tricks to improve one’s finances. I must say that the list is truly helpful. We are actually doing (or trying to do) a few of the tips mentioned in the article.
Right now, I am concentrating on #14 which is declutter. I have been slowly (it’s been months, actully) getting rid of our excess things. Even if it’s a good stuff but if it hasn’t been used in a while, I get rid of it. I give them away to people who are so willing to put them to good use. I really want to lessen our clutter and keep only stuff that we need. Just like what is said on the article, it’s simpler and more peaceful that way. Not to mention, cleaning up is so much easier. And it’s true, I think several times before purchasing another stuff as I don’t want to clutter things up again.
Here’s a glimpse of my gown, which has been sitting in the sofa for the longest time, before I put it away. After all the cleaning up, I finally found a space for it.
Next stop, our closet.
