On School and Cars.
We finally decided on a school for our son. Although we have visited several schools, we only made him take the entrance exams of two schools. Some are way off our budget while the feedbacks we have gathered for the other schools weren’t favorable. I just hope that there are still available slots for the schedule we like. I never realized that pre-school hunting can be difficult.
Anyway, the school is not so near from where we live so we have to set aside a budget for the transportation. A big chunk of our budget goes to gas. I seriously am contemplating on getting a smaller car, something that will consume less gas than ordinary cars. I have my mind set on this particular car and I am hoping I can have it this year.
But I am looking at various cars on the internet still. Who knows, we might be able to afford a nicer car. I do like bigger cars like the gmc canyon. I am so scared to drive, I think that I will feel safer riding a big vehicle. I think the canyon will be a very good everyday car, especially for us. Plus despite it being a big vehicle, its fuel economy is quite impressive. The fronts seats provides a comfortable driving position, thus no backaches for the drivers. And it’s roomy, too with space for two adults or three kids at the back. There are much more good reviews about the car, but I think the husband will understand it better than me.

Aside from a general cleaning up of the house, I am also taking advantage of the summer break to clean up my digital files, as well. I have tons of photos all waiting to be burned into DVD’s. I also have loads of digital scrapping kits that I need to organize. Hopefully I can scrap or create a simple album/photo book for my son. I am likewise looking at various online backup services for my very much loved photos. It doesn’t hurt to be more careful, does it? So I am planning to have my precious photos backed up online as well.

Trying To Be.
I am trying to be a morning person. I vow to wake up earlier than usual this vacation and I hope I can keep this up. It is a must that I include exercising in my daily activities, as well. I might try some elliptical machines this time. I will also be trying to sneak in some me time during the day so I won’t be staying up late at night. Even if it doesn’t seem so, I really am swamped with chores during the day. I don’t know, but some people have the impression that I am not actually busy. Even when I was working, I sometimes would feel that were people who weren’t convinced that I was actually doing my job. Oh well.

Party Invites.
Here’s my son’s invitation for his school birthday party next week. I actually had 2 invites made, but I chose to print this one. It may look simple but I did have a hard time with this one. I was at a loss, I didn’t know where to start. I totally forgot what little knowledge of Photoshop I had. Thanks to DH’s really good photos of DS, a simple text did the trick. I never had to add any embellishments. I did spend most of my computer time last and I had to thank Aggie for her suggestions. It made the invites nicer. And now it’s time to focus on the more important tasks, like the search for muscle builder supplements. My stick-thin cousin is really serious with this getting fit thing. He is graduating soon and he feels he needs to get bigger.

I created a really simple birthday invitation for my son’s party in school next week. It wasn’t part of the plan but since most of his classmates are giving away invitations for their parties {they have a series of parties before their moving up day}, I might as well create one for him, too. I did have quite a hard time initially. I am not sure if I’ll be able to scrap again. It is one of my to-do items come vacation. I might use templates first as I really don’t know where to start.

So Much To Do.
I have a lot on my hands. Nothing big though, but when one doesn’t have much free time, tasks seem to pile up.
I need to have my son’s birthday invites printed today so they can be distributed to his classmates before the week ends.
I still haven’t started with his birthday lootbags yet. It will be mostly snacks and other goodies so a trip to the grocery will do.
I have 3 birthday gifts to wrap, as my son’s class is having a series of birthday parties before the school year ends.
We need to order food from Jollibee for his party.
An aunt requesting that I help her look for the best colon cleanser. This is an easy one. Coloncleansing.org has all the necessary information.
Shop for my son’s outfit for his Moving Up Day. I think they will be wearing a toga so a simple polo will do.
Wrap our gifts to E for his 5th birthday. I have a few but mostly cheap items. Some are books the I even got at Booksale. I know it’s going to be fun opening several presents. We still need to buy the Tomica toys he has been wishing though.
Prepare for the birthday party that his lolo and lola and tita M are giving him.
